Keeping this in mind and to spread the inspiring thoughts of Swami Vivekanand in a tribal area Swami Vivekananda Bahuuddeshiya Vikas Shikshan Sanstha established Late Vasantrao Kolhatkar Arts College in 1999. Vasantrao Kolhatkar was a great political figure in Amravati area. He was a visionary person that is why the name was given after him to the college. Late Vasantrao Kolhatkar Arts College Rohana is located in Arvi Tahsil, Wardha District, which comes in Maharashtra's Vidarbha region. Rohana village is surrounded by such an area where the majority of the population is tribal. The intention behind the establishment of this institution was pure and pious. The people of this region were mostly illiterate and poor. To bring such people into the mainstream of higher education was the prime concern of the institution. The management realized that it was quiet difficult for the resident student of Rohana and nearby area to attend the college at Arvi or Pulgaon because of their economical or social problem such as the greater cost involved in studying outside one's hometown. The institution had a humble beginning from the rented rooms of Gram Panchayat having 82 students on roll to the well-structured small building of eight rooms.

Late Vasantrao Kolhatkar Arts College, Rohana was established in 1999 in the cherished memory of Vasantrao kolhatkar. Vasantrao Kolhatkar was a great political figure in Amravati area. He was a visionary which is why his name was given to the college. Vasantrao Kolhatkar left his glorious impress on everything he touched and his undying footprints on the Sand of time will always remain a perennial of inspiration to the people of Amravati area for generation to come. Swami Vivekanand Bahuuddeshiya Vikas Shikshan sanstha , was registered under the Societies Registration Act and the Bombay Public Trust Act also. The donations to this society are admissible for tax-relief under the Income Tax Exemption Certificate thereto by the lncome Tax authorities.
The society is at present, running a mono faculty Arts College in the form of Late Vasantrao Arts College, Rohana. The College has today become premier institutions of the town. On account of the teamwork of highly qualified and devoted lecturers, well equipped library and scientifically planned periodical internal assessment system and extra special coaching scheme, the performance of this College during last years has shown remarkable progress and won lures in academic field.
